According to Scholastics, Jewelry is defined as art objects worn for personal adornment. Examples (including but not limited to): Bracelets, rings, brooches, earrings, cufflinks, necklaces, etc.
In North Carolina, jewelry making can also include beadwork and silversmithing.
Native American beadwork used primarily stone, shell, quills, and bone carved patiently with non-metal tools. Materials like metal and glass were introduced and the beadwork patterns used on clothing, jewelry, and decorations became much more intricate and stylized.
