Maroons Win at Wartburg

Dowling Catholic had both the boys and girls teams head to Wartburg with a mix of athletes - some returning varsity and some younger athletes. The Maroon Girls came out on top as the team champions with a lot of top performers. The boys ended up finishing 3rd as a team.

Dowling finished as champions with 96 team points 🏆 

• Emily Heitzman won the 55 meter dash with a PR of 7.38. Kate Nelson qualified 5th with a 7.78 and finished 6th with a time of 7.84 in finals.

• Annie Smith won the 55 hurdles with a school record of 8.43 in the prelims and a 8.56 in finals. Franny Brooks was second in qualifying with 8.83 and finished 3rd in finals with a 9.17.

• Lauren McCoy (27.09) and Maddie Nagel (27.47) go 1-2 in the 200 meter dash.

• Liv Hall finished 7th overall in the 1500 meter run in 5:15.18.

• Avery Muller finished 3rd in the 3000 meter run with a PR of 11:15.94, and Avery Prichard finished 7th with a time of 12:29.58.

• Kate Nelson won the High jump with a PR of 5'2.

• Alex Gaskell finished 3rd in the Long jump with a 15'10.5, Adalyn Jones finished 8th with a jump of 15'1.

• The 4x200 relay of Alex Gaskell, Annie Smith, Emily Heitzman, and Lauren McCoy win with a season's best of 1:47.45

• The 4x400 relay of Katherine Banker, Maddie Nagel, Elise Huegerich, and Franny Brooks finish 3rd with a time of 4:19.32

• The 4x800 relay of Sadie Reinhardt, Elise Huegerich, Veronica Eure, and Cora Volp finish 3rd with a time of 10:37.41

• Kate Nelson - High Jump: 2nd indoors, tied 4th for juniors, tied 9th in school history (5'2)

• Emily Heitzman - 55 Meters: 2nd in school history (7.38)

• Franny Brooks - 55 Hurdles: 6th in school history (8.83)

• Maddie Nagel - 200 Meters: 8th indoors (27.47)

• Avery Muller - 3000 Meters: 9th indoors (11:15.94)

• Liv Hall - 1500 Meters: 9th indoors (5:15.18)

• Kate Nelson - 55 Meters: 9th in school history (7.78)

• Braelyn Gifford - 1500 Meters: 10th indoors (5:15.98)
