We had a crazy, fun, exciting, and chaotic meet at the Jaguar Invitational. We were able to get almost every athlete on the team who was healthy into events and had a lot of highlights to go around. With so much chaos and reshuffling of relays, it was a bit difficult to keep up with everything happening. Here I'll highlight our varsity individuals, JV individual medalists, our varsity relays, and our top finishing JV relays.
100 meters; Lauren McCoy finished 3rd in her first open 100 of the season with a 12.83, and Emily Heitzman finished in 5th. In JV, Maddie Nagel finished 1st in her first open 100 ever and Franny Brooks finished 2nd with a PR.
200 meters: Maddie Nagel and Alex Gaskell both PR with Maddie finishing 2nd and Alex 5th.Â
400 meters: Lauren McCoy finished 2nd overall with a time of 59.58.
800 meters: Sadie Reinhardt continues to drop times finishing 9th with a PR of 2:32.40. In JV, Avery Muller finished 2nd in her first open 800 of the season and Ava Van Ee finished 3rd.
1500 meters: Braelyn Gifford finished 10th in a loaded field with a 5:16.01.
3000 meters: Liv Hall finished 8th overall in 11:06.51. In JV, Avery Prichard PR'd by around 7 seconds to finish in 3rd.
100 hurdles: Annie Smith has a huge PR breaking the 15 second mark, winning with a time of 14.93. Ruby Leman finished 6th in varsity. In JV, Franny Brooks won with a new PR and sophomore record time of 14.80, also going under 15 for the first time. Alex Gaskell finished 2nd overall in JV.
400 hurdles: Katherine Banker finished 4th with a time of 1:08.16. In JV, Veronica Eure and Ashley Gonyo go 2-3 and both set new PRs.
High jump: Alex Gaskell and Kate Nelson go 1-2 in varsity, while in JV Ava Groeteke and Veronica Eure tie for 2nd.
Long jump: Ruby Leman finished 6th and Adalyn Jones finished 7th overall.
Discus: Audrey Ott won with a best throw of 123'2 and Amaiya Thompson finished in 7th. Bella Benson and Izzy Crouch go 1-2 and both set new PRs.
Shot put: Kenzie Dean threw a new SB of 34'9 to win, Alma Drazi finished 6th overall.
4x100: Brooks, McCoy, Johnson, and Heitzman won with a time of 50.52. The top JV team of Nagel, Mead, Meredith, and R Leman won with a time of 51.95.
4x200: Johnson, Mead, Meredith, and Jones finished 5th with a time of 1:51.02. The top JV team of O'Neill, Messerschmidt, Eischeid, and Homes finished 3rd with a time of 1:57.68.
4x400: A Smith, Nagel, Banker, and McCoy drop 7 seconds off of our SB to finish 2nd overall with a 4:04.75. The top JV team of Brooks, Huegerich, O'Halloran, and Van Ee finished 4th in 4:31.48
4x800: Huegerich, A Muller, Reinhardt, and O'Halloran drop another 1.7 seconds off their SB time finishing in 4th with a 9:48.21. The top JV team of Volp, Tiffany, Darnell, and Marsh finish 2nd with a 10:52.73
Sprint Medley: Johnson, Heitzman, A Smith, and Vizcarra finish 5th in 1:59.52. The JV team of Eischeid, Tombe, Colon-Campos, and Russian finish in 2nd with a 2:05.07.
Distance Medley: R Leman, Thompson, Russian, and Gifford finish 4th with a time of 4:38.02. The JV team of Colon-Campos, A Pollard, Wuest, and S Pollard finish 3rd with a time of 5:18.23
Shuttle Hurdle: The JV team of Wuest, G Leman, Eure, and Vizcarra finish 2nd with a time of 1:19.67.
