State Qualifying Meet Assignments Announced
On Monday, the IGHSAU and the IHSAA announced the assignments for the state qualifying meet on May 11. The Dowling Catholic boys & girls teams will be headed to Council Bluffs. The 8 teams there will be:
Ankeny
Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln
Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson
Dallas Center-Grimes
Dowling Catholic
Sioux City East
Sioux City North
Sioux City West
We were expecting to make the trip out west, but to be honest are a little shocked that they put us in the same district as Ankeny who also has strong girls & boys teams this season. The competition is good - that high competition should lead to better marks for at-large bids for athletes that don't auto-qualify finishing top 2. Here are the top 2 in each event at this point in the season, with the top Maroon if not in the top 2 (note: "effectively" in standings means not counting more than 2 individuals from a school).
