The Maroons made a strong push this week to get more events down to the Drake Relays. Coming in to this week, we had 5 of 6 relays and one individual, Olivia Kramer in the 100 meter dash, qualified by hitting the Blue Oval Standard.

Jim Duea Relays (stats here) - MEET CHAMPIONS 🏆
On the track:
100 meter: Emily Heitzman finished 2nd with a PR of 12.71, which is 12th in school history and 4th all-time for sophomores. Shea Johnson ran a 13.00, which is a SB and 7th all-time for juniors. Ainslie scanlon ran a 14.85 in her first open 100, and Betty Mateo set a new PR of 14.92.
100 hurdles: Olivia Kramer finished 2nd dropping a HUGE PR of 14.79, which is a senior record and 3rd all-time in school history. Ruby Leman finished with a SB 15.42 which is 4th all-time for sophomores. Alex Gaskell also had a huge PR of 15.28 winning the JV division, moving her to 7th in school history and 3rd all-time for sophomores. Nicole Pedersen ran a PR of 20.92. Both Olivia and Alex hit the Blue Oval Standard of 15.40 to qualify for the Drake Relays.
200 meter: In a loaded field, Olivia Kramer and Lauren McCoy went 1-2. Olivia ran a SB of 25.32, good for 2nd all-time for a senior. Lauren McCoy ran a PR of 25.50 dropping almost a whole second, moving her to tied for 4th in school history and setting a new freshman record. In JV, Allison Stacy ran her first open 200 in 29.21 and Chloe Abrahamson set a new PR of 31.68, beating her old PR by almost 2 seconds.
400 meter: Lauren McCoy finished 2nd and set a new PR of 58.14, improving her place of 2nd in school history and freshman record holder. Annie Smith finished 6th in 1:01.93
400 hurdles: Reese Ervin ran a big PR of 1:06.09 finishing 3rd overall, moving her up to 3rd in school history and 2nd all-time for seniors. Katherine Banker finished 7th with a time of 1:11.36. Abby Ziegert ran her first ever 400 hurdles, finishing 4th in JV with a time of 1:20.43
800 meter: Sally Gaskell led the way with a SB of 2:27.73 finishing 7th, Elise Huegerich finished 12th with 2:33.45. In JV, both Ava Van Ee (2:39.65) and Sadie Reinhardt (2:40.86) set new PRs.
1500 meter: Liv Hall dropped 8 seconds off her time, setting a new PR of 5:02.31 which is 10th all-time for juniors. Avery Muller ran but did not have a final time due to timing issues. Grace Kottmeyer set a new SB of 5:53.20, and Veronica Melo-Vazquez ran her first 1500 in 6:20.78.
3000 meter: We did not run a 3000 at this meet to focus on the 4x800.
In the field:
High jump: Alex Gaskell set a new SB of 5'4 finishing 3rd, tying her PR/school record and setting a new sophomore record. Ellie Muller and Ava Groeteke both cleared 4'10, with Ellie finishing 6th in varsity and Ava winning JV.
Long jump: Ruby Leman had a HUGE jump of 17'1 beating her old PR by 8 inches, finishing 2nd overall, setting a new sophomore record, and moving to 8th in school history. Marren Dirks also set a new PR of 14'7. Ava Groeteke did LJ for the first time as a high schooler jumping 12'3.
Discus: Audrey Ott finished 2nd with a throw of 118'3 and Yalayzah Lovan finished 6th with a throw of 102'2. In JV, Amaiya Thompson finished 2nd with a throw of 102'4, Nellie Johnson threw 81'7, Brooklyn Anderson set a new PR of 79'1, and Alma Drazi threw 77'7.
Shot put: Yalitza Lovan finished 3rd with a new PR of 26'1.25, moving her to 6th in school history and 3rd all-time for seniors. Kenzie Dean finished 5th with a throw of 32'6.5. In JV, Alma Drazi tied her PR throwing 29'10, Shea berger threw 28'2.5, Brooklyn Anderson threw 25'10.5, and Addy Logan threw 21'1.
Relays:
4x100: The varsity crew of Ruby Leman, Emily Heitzman, Shea Johnson, and Franny Brooks placed 3rd overall with a time of 50.28. In JV, the team of Abby Eischeid, Kate Nelson, Anita Tombe, and Reese Ervin had a time of 53.39 while the team of Ainslie Scanlon, Betty Mateo, Chloe Abrahamson, and Grace Nagel finished with a time of 58.83.
4x200: The varsity team of Marion Boot, Maddie Nagel, Amaya Colon-Campos, and Amaiya Thompson finished 7th overall with a time of 1:49.52. The JV team of Anita Tombe, Marren Dirks, Nevaeh Russian, and Grace Nagel also finished 7th with a time of 2:01.84.
4x400: Annie Smith, Maddie Nagel, Emily Heitzman, and Alex Gaskell finished 7th in varsity with a time of 4:12.26. In JV, the team of Elizabeth Marsh, Sadie Reinhardt, Elise Huegerich, and Ava Van Ee had a time of 4:35.17 while the team to Abby Ziegert, Willow Jepson, Nellie Johnson, and Nevaeh Russian had a time of 4:45.60.
4x800: The varsity squad of Ella Anliker, Elise Huegerich, Liv Hall, and Sally Gaskell had a big day running 9:39.43, dropping 8 seconds off of our SB and histting the Blue Oval Standard! The JV team of Avery Muller, Sadie Reinhardt, Elizabeth Marsh, and Willow Jepson were the winners in a time of 10:31.20, and the team of Anna Schoessler, Sofiya Pollard, Veronica Melo-Vazquez, and Clare Leto finished in 12:02.19.
Sprint medley: The sprint medley team of Shea Johnson, Marion Boot, Franny Brooks, and Maddie Nagel finished 8th overall in 1:56.64. The JV team of Abby Eischeid, Allison Stacy, Amaya Colon-Campos, and Katherine Banker finished 3rd in 2:00.32.
Distance medley: The Maroons finished 5th in 4:36.16 with Franny Brooks, Kate Nelson, Avery Muller, and Molly O'Halloran.
Shuttle hurdle: Franny Brooks, Nicole Pedersen, Reese Ervin, and Katherine Banker finished 10th in a time of 1:17.83.

On the track:
100 meter: Emily Heitzman finished 2nd in 12.95, while Marion Boot finished 4th in 13.37 which is 9th all-time for freshmen. In JV, Emma Bishop finished in 14.85 (PR), Jasalyn Jason in 15.63 (PR), Dana Diaz in 16.76 (SB), and Nyamouch Ruach in 18.48 (PR).
100 hurdles: Alex Gaskell was the lone Maroon to run and was the winner in 15.57.
200 meter: In varsity, Ashley Hall set a new PR of 26.53 winning the event with Shea Johnson finishing 4th in 28.36. In JV, Franny Brooks finished in 28.14 (PR), Allison Stacy in 30.06, Emma Bishop in 31.27 (PR), and Kylie Matejski in 31.73.
400 meter: Maddie Nagel finished 4th overall in 1:04.13 and Elise Huegerich 5th in 1:04.72. Nevaeh Russian set a new PR of 1:11.96, and Anna Schoessler ran a 1:13.97.
400 hurdles: Reese Ervin finished 2nd overall in 1:09.28, with Ruby Leman finishing 5th in new PR of 1:13.37. Katherine Banker was the JV winner in 1:12.45.
800 meter: Sally Gaskell finished 5th overall in 2:30.10, and Liv Hall was right behind her with a new PR of 2:30.41. In JV, Sadie Reinhardt set a new PR of 2:40.07, Ava Van Ee ran a 2:41.43, and Clare Leto ran a PR of 3:15.71.
1500 meter: Avery Muller ran a 5:11.24 to lead the Maroons with Molly O'Halloran close behind in 5:12.00 for a new PR. In JV, Stephanie Rash ran her first 1500 in 6:06.03, Veronica Melo-Vazquez finished in 6:23.61, Sofiya Pollard set a new PR of 6:31.42, Ella Chuapoco finished in 6:34.91, and Leah Rhode ran a SB of 7:21.54.
3000 meter: Liv Hall finished 3rd overall in 11:19.56 and Elizabeth Marsh finished 8th with a 12:30.16. Sofiya Pollard was the only Maroon in JV,, running her first 3k in 13:44.80.
In the field:
High jump: Alex Gaskell and Berit Kallemeier were both event winners! Alex won varsity with a clearance of 5'2, and Berit won JV clearing 4'8.
Long jump: Ruby Leman had another strong showing, getting 2nd overall with a jump of 17'0. Marren Dirks had a best jump of 12'11.5, and Dana Diaz set a new PR of 10'1.
Discus: Audrey Ott finished 3rd overall with a best throw of 107'1 and Yalayzah Lovan was 10th with a 98'8. In JV, Amaiya Thompson was the winner throwing 91'11, Nellie Johnson set a new PR of 89'5, Bella Benson threw 70'10, and Isabella Polito set a new PR of 47'9.
Shot put: Yalitza Lovan finished 5th with a best of 34'3 and Kenzie Dean was 9th with 32'8. Alma Drazi was the JV winner with a PR of 30'6, Shea Berger threw 28'4, Tessa Holtorf had a PR of 24'4.5, and Grace Schuler had a PR of 22'1.
Relays:
4x100: The regular varsity team of Ashley Hall, Emily Heitzman, Shea Johnson, and Olivia Kramer were victorious in 49.76. The JV team of Abby Eischeid, Allison Stacy, Marion Boot, and Franny Brooks were also winners with a time of 53.41. The team of Nevaeh Russian, Anita Tombe, Ainslie Scanlon, and Kylie Matejski finished in 58.19, and the team of Grace nagel, Josie Scigliano, Molli Young, and Nyareech Agau finished in 59.64.
4x200: Our varsity team of Katherine Banker, Marion Boot, Amaiya Thompson, and Franny Brooks placed 3rd overall in 1:52.06. We had 3 JV teams run this as well: Abby Eischeid, Amaya Colon-Campos, Berit Kallemeier, and Ava Groteke finished 5th in 1:59.92, Grace Nagel, Ainslie Scanlon, Josie Scigliano, and Molli Young finished in 2:08.48, and Allison Stacy, Teresa Ume, Jasalyn Jason, and Isabella Polito finished in 2:13.87.
4x400: We decided to scratch the varsity 4x400 but had 2 JV teams run. The team of Avery Muller, Molly O'Halloran, Sadie Reinhardt, and Ava Van Ee finished in 4:37.87 and the team of Nevaeh Russian, Berit Kallemeier, Anna Schoessler, and Amaiya Thompson finished in 4:50.07.
4x800: The varsity crew of Avery Muller, Molly O'Halloran, Elise Huegerich, and Sally Gaskell finished 2nd in 10:05.27. The JV group of Anna Schoessler, Veronica Melo-Vazquez, Ella Chuapoco, and Clare Leto finished in 12:31.89.
Sprint medley: The team of Shea Johnson, Emily Heitzman, Ashley Hall, and Annie Smith won with a time of 1:55.37. Our JV team of Emlda Tombe, Anita Tombe, Amaya Colon-Campos, and Katherine Banker were also winners in 2:01.05.
Shuttle hurdle: Our varsity squad of Olivia Kramer, Alex Gaskell, Reese Ervin, and Ruby Leman won with a time of 1:05.09. The JV team of Franny Brooks, Josie Scigliano, Nicole Pedersen, and Katherine Banker finished in 1:22.28.
