Ideas for English Activities

Using the Theme: People & Places (Geography)

• Draw a picture of your house with you in it. Label the picture.

• Draw a design of your house & back yard. Label the picture.

• Draw a design of your house on your street. Add in street name, house number, numbers of the houses around you. Label the picture.

Optional: Ask Mum or Dad to find your house on Google Maps- draw what you see. Write in some of the names of the Streets.

Vocabulary:

• Write a list of words of things you can see in your house

Writing:

• Write about something funny that has happened in your house

Ideas for Maths Activities

Count how many are in your house:

• Doors

• taps

• cupboards

• steps

• cups

• plates

Maths Problem:

• When you/someone in your family sets the table how many pieces of cutlery do you need? Why?

• Pick a number between 1-10. How many ways can you draw that many?

• Now do the number just before/straight after.
