We done to all those who helped Doon CBS become an active school. We were officially awarded our 3rd active flag on the 17th June 2022. As a special prize for winning our 3rd flag, we were presented with a brand new portable speaker. This will be of much use throughout the years.
Rugby Blitz Kilfeacle
Well done to the boys in 5th & 6th class who took part in a well organised rugby blitz in Kilfeacle rugby club today. We were very fortunate to meet two Munster rugby stars who were very accommodating with all the children.
European Sports Day
On Friday last, we help our European Sports Day. We played basketball, table tennis and soccer. In conjunction with this we had a jersey day and also decided to raise money for the Irish Health Foundation. Thanks to everyone who donated.
Orienteering
We did some orienteering for PE today. Orienteering is one of our target areas for PE. Thankfully we have our Walkway signs to help with this. Loads of fun was had today!!
Well done to all those who took part in the Cross Country running in Thurles on Wednesday, September 24th. Well done to Senan, Charlie & Joe who won a gold team medal to go with their individual medals. A great day out was had by all and we are looking forward to next year already. Thanks to Mrs. Breen for all her hard work.
County Minor Champions 2025
Congratulations to the Doon minor hurling team who were crowned county minor hurling champions last Sunday, September 7th. The had a titanic battle with Ahane but thankfully came away 2 point winners. Much appreciation to Frances, Fionn, Seán, Conor, Eamonn Packie & Denis who visited the school with the trophy.

Run Around Ireland
On March 14th we started the 'Run Around Ireland' challenge. To mark this, we organised a 5km run in our local Gaa grounds. All pupils completed this run at their own pace with plenty of smiling faces before and after!! Thanks also to the parents of the Active school committee who recorded each childs run with plenty of encouragement as well as providing some well earned refreshments after.
