Dear Parents/ Guardians,


The following is some important information for the next few weeks .


School Tour 

The school tour will take place on Friday next June 7th.

The following are the arrangements for the day.


School Closures: 

Summer holidays: Friday June 21st at 12 noon. 


Fresh Today Lunches- There will be no Fresh Today lunches for any classes  on the following dates-

Friday June 7th - School tour 

Monday June 17th -Friday June 21st inclusive - last week of school


Bike Week: Well done to everyone for making our Bike Week so enjoyable for all. Many pupils improved their cycling skills. It was lovely to see many of the boys cycling to school. Thanks to parents for making the effort to bring the bike everyday. 


Edmund Rice Celebration: I hope you all enjoyed learning about Blessed Edmund Rice with your son. The staff were very impressed with the effort pupils made with their story boards. 


UL Academy:

Graduation for the 6th class from the Academy will take place on Monday June 17th in UL. Parents of 6th class are invited to attend. It is lovely if at least one parent is there for each child. The ceremony will commence at 10.30a.m.


Active Schools Week 2024: This will take place from Monday June 10th to June 14th. There are a range of activities planned. Mr Moloney will send the schedule to all on Friday next. 


School Reports: The reports can be collected from the school on Wednesday morning June 12th from 8.45am to 9.15am and from 2.45-3pm that evening. 

Book and stationery lists along with school information regarding classes and teachers will be included with the reports. 


Sporting Success : Well done to Noah O Kelly, Paddy O’Brien and Ryan Stapleton who won the County Skills competition and travel to Mallow today to contest the Munster Final. Best of luck boys. 

Hard luck to the school hurling team who were defeated by Crecora in the East Hurling final.

Well done to Oisin Ryan and his team who won the Spring league last month. The younger boys showed huge skill levels and determination. Much thanks and appreciation to Mr. Moloney  and Mr. O’ Connell for mentoring all the teams. 


SFI Curious Minds Gold Award: Congratulations to Ms Elizabeth who received a Gold Award for her entry based on our range of STEM activities. The pupils  were complimented  on their range of projects.


ESB Science Blast: Well done to the 5th and 6th class pupils who participated in the ESB Science Blast in UL last month. The boys  tested which studs ensure the fastest speeds. They were complimented by the judges for their project and the results of their findings have been passed on to John Kiely!


School Grounds: Please note the school grounds, pitch and track are private property and dogs are not permitted. 


DEIS Literacy and Numeracy Camp: A letter will be sent to families that have signed up for the camp mid June with all the camp details. 


Parents: A sincere thank  you to the Parents Association for their support to the school at all times. Thanks also to the numerous parents who provided transportation to various games and events throughout the year. Your support is invaluable.
