Internship Stipends Available
Dominican University of California is pleased to announce the Spring/Summer 2025 internship award program. These awards, of up to $5000 each, are available to offset the cost of travel, room and board and other expenses associated with internships. The internship awards are made possible thanks to the generosity of Dominican donors, Robin Pryor, Sisi Damner and Teresa and Richard Niello. The application process includes a resume, unofficial transcript, short essay responses and a panel interview with a committee of faculty and staff.
WHO MAY APPLY?
Students must be currently enrolled at Dominican University of California and returning for the fall semester (includes approved fall off-campus programs).
Internship organization may not be owned or operated by a member of your immediate family, or a current undergraduate student.
Teresa & Richard Niello Endowed Internship Fund
All students (regardless of year of study, specific GPA or financial need) are eligible to apply.
Robin Pryor Fund for Internship Support
Recipient(s) must be in their junior year, eligible for financial aid, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Sisi Damner Fund for Internship Support
Recipient(s) should be majoring or minoring in History and/or Humanities, in their junior or senior year with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and eligible for financial aid.
REQUIREMENTS FOR RECEIVING AWARD
Signed internship award agreement OR signed Dominican Internship Learning Contract
Final Presentation to Faculty Advisor at the conclusion of the internship
Thank you letter to donor at the conclusion of the internship
NOTE: Possible Tax Implications
Please note that the IRS considers awards for incidental expenses, such as room and board, travel, and optional equipment, taxable income. When filing tax returns, you may be required to report the amount of the internship award. Please consult a tax professional with any questions or assistance.
