To provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for students, minimizing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases, and promoting the overall well-being of the school community.
Content
Currently, the school implements a practice of conducting regular insecticide spraying once a month in outdoor areas and once every two months in indoor spaces
Janitors spray pesticides in some of the seriously affected areas regularly.
Mosquito infestations peak during the rainy season, as the warm and humid conditions create an ideal breeding environment for these pests. However, rain compromises the effectiveness of outdoor insecticide. Heavy downpours will wash away the insecticide, reducing its ability to control the mosquito population.
It is suggested to use larvicides where mosquitoes lay eggs including gutters or downspouts and rain fast insecticide that remains effective even after rainfall or irrigation to help reduce the number of mosquitoes in the school.
It is recommended to cultivate mosquito-repellent plants like dalmatian pyrethrum, mug wort, and citronella.
Mosquito repellent borrowing service will be implemented to ensure students have the necessary protection against mosquito bites and prevent the discomfort and potential health risks associated with mosquitoes.
