What is a pond habitat?

A pond is a small area of freshwater surrounded by land.

This habitat includes the water as well as the surrounding area that outlines the pond.

Physical factors
(Light, Temperature, Air, Water)

Exposed to sunlight (quite bright)
Water is usually cool

Well, before I tell you, why don't you think of some animals that you can see in ponds? Here's a list of what I can think of...

Dragonfly
Pondskater
Frog and Tadpole
Duck
Fish e.g. Koi (in the picture shown on the top left)
Water snails (in the picture shown on the bottom left)

Pond community

Made up of 3 different groups of organisms that are:

1) near the pond

2) floating on the surface of pond

3) submerged in the pond. (deep underneath the pond surface)

(Pssst... this should be taken down in your biology book)
