| THROUGH THE LENS OF DMMMSU OPEN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM STUDENT AFFAIRS AND SERVICES: The eOpenUisCool Program

The role of student affairs and services is crucial in these trying times. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No.09 series of 2013 on Enhanced Policies and Guidelines for Student Affairs and Services has been supplemented focusing on the flexible delivery of student services. This is to ensure that no student is left behind during this pandemic. This also complements CHED Guidelines on the Implementation of Flexible Learning wherein student support services are mentioned as one of the components of the Learning Continuity Plan of HEIs.

The DMMMSU Open University System (OUS) responded and crafted a platform to deliver student affairs program with a live program dubbed “eOPEN U iScool” via the official Facebook page of DMMMSU-OUS. The “eOPEN U iScool” implemented weekly on its first semester via the official Facebook Page of the DMMMSU Open University System. It centers on the three pronged student services, (1) Student Welfare Services, (2) Student Development Services and (3) Institutional Student Programs and Services; with the purpose of safeguarding proper balance between rights of educational institution and student rights, enhance the quality of SAS in the university, promoting access to quality, relevant, efficient and effective student affairs and services, ensure the welfare and holistic development of the students; and warrant a systems approach to student affairs and services.

Along with its first semester of airing the eOpen U iScool program, it aired 10 episodes in 2020. 2 episodes for student welfare services, 3 episodes on student development and 5 episodes on institutional student programs and services with more than 4,000 views from our students, university personnel and the whole school community. On its second year of implementation, it aired a total of 14 episodes with 11,113 views and 1360 reactions
