Department of Education:
Department of Education (DepEd) launched the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030 to improve the delivery and quality of basic education and the student experience in the Philippines. Education Secretary Leonor Briones highlighted that BEDP 2030 is a strategic long-term plan addressing challenges in access and quality, with a focus on the immediate impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and fostering global competitiveness and resiliency among learners. The plan, divided into two phases, aims to close quality gaps, sustain relevant programs, and introduce innovations. Key stakeholders pledged to support the plan's implementation for the benefit of millions of Filipino learners. With DepEd Order No. 024, s. 2022, BEDP 2030 is adopted as the long-term plan, covering formal education from Kindergarten to Senior High School, and non-formal education through the Alternative Learning System.
This proposal aims to better equip Grade 5 to Grade 12 students for success in education and hopefully the workforce for higher education, thereby contributing to the nation's overall economic advancement and development.
