My week with the Sto. Tomas BFP was way more hands-on than I expected I thought I'd mostly be watching, but we were right in the thick of things. The orientation was helpful we learned the rules and met some key people, including the head of the BFP. Then it was straight into the practical stuff such as learning to connect fire hoses properly, mastering different knots (those were tricky), and understanding fire codes and how to prevent fires. We even learned about fire detection systems how they work and why they're so important. It was all really practical, so I could use what I learned right away. That helped me understand things better and feel more confident. The whole experience really showed me how important teamwork is when dealing with emergencies.
