Elementary Strings Workshop
Hosted by the Emerson, Da Vinci & Harper Jr. High Advanced Orchestra
Directed by Greg Brucker
This free workshop will give our returning elementary strings students an introduction to the orchestras and the excitement that awaits you at the junior high level. It’s fun, motivating, and musically educational. The afternoon is full of fun new music and wonderful long lasting connections, as you work with 8th and 9th grade orchestra students and Jr. High Orchestra Director, Greg Brucker. The day ends in a high-spirited concert where all participants will have the opportunity to show off their new skills. The concert starts at 4:30 PM, and is a free event. Mr. Brucker will be available to answer parent and student questions after the concert. Come and have a great time taking your music making to the next level!

Times:
1:00-1:15 PM: Drop-off at Emerson-DV
1:15-4:30 PM: Workshop With The Jr. High Students
4:30 PM: Concert for all families.

Please note: Staring in December, 2019, an email to the workshop gmail will receive an automatic reply with a link to the secured “Registration Form” for the February 29th Workshop. Please fill out the form and submit it for registration.

FOR ALL ATTENDING STUDENTS: Please bring your own instrument and accessories. This includes a shoulder rest, Rosin, Endpin stop/strap for cellos and basses, and reusable water bottle.
**Music, folders, pencils, snacks, and T-shirts will be provided by the Orchestra Boosters**
The Elementary Strings Workshop is a free event for all participating elementary families. All students who have had at least 1 year of string instrument performance (whether through school or privately), that are 4th grade and older, are invited to join us for this free annual workshop. This workshop is funded through the gracious financial support of the DSAF (Davis Schools Arts Foundation) and DSOMA (Davis Schools Orchestral Music Association). We thank them for their support of the arts in the Davis City Schools.
