Kindergarten and 1st Grade
The Blueberry Award is a children's book award given by the Evanston Public Library (EPL) to recognize books that inspire a love of nature and action for the planet.
The award honors books that:
Are published in the US in the year of review
Are written for children aged 3–10
Share nature, climate peril, or nature intersections in a truthful and developmentally appropriate way
Reflect the diversity of people in the world
Are based on real science
Encourage children to take action that can make a difference
Ideally, align with the City of Evanston's Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP) goals
Lincolnwood Kindergarten and First Grade students will read the following books and then vote on their favorites!
The winner will be announce at a celebratory event in
March at the EPL!
