Intramural Club

Students in second through fifth grade can join the Intramural Club! Sessions will be once a week after school for one hour from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. Second and third graders will participate on Tuesdays. Fourth and fifth graders will participate on Thursdays. Hope to see you there!

Photography

Your iPad can take incredible photos - come learn how with Ms. Stump! We will go over some of the fundamentals to getting that “great pic” and get to know some of the editing tools on your iPad to help create a fantastic photo. Learn how to identify and set up the ideal photo from photographers throughout history, then how you can apply it to your own pics.  This club is open to 4th and 5th graders. Ms. Stump can be reached at gstump@district30.org

Puppetry

The Puppetry Club

The Puppetry Club is for 1st and 2nd graders who are interested in learning, creating, performing, and playing with puppets.  We will be building our own puppets, playing with them, and creating our very own puppet shows!  Join us for some creative play on Wednesdays from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m.

Technology Club

Do you love using technology? Are you someone that loves to collaborate with others and create awesome projects with iPads? Then you should join the Willowbrook Technology Club! Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of creative experiences on the iPad! Some of the fun we will have will be making slideshows, digital projects, and stories. As we work on the iPads, the students have the opportunity to learn how to upload projects into a digital journal, using voice, images, and video. Students will participate in coding, and enhance iPad, and apps skills by using tools such as green screen, Stop Motion, Pic Collage, Apple Clips, iMovie, Canva, Pebble Go, interactive Google Slides, Augmented Reality with Quiver, and many more! 

Students in grades 2 & 3 are invited to 11 sessions from September to November. We will meet in the Library on Wednesdays from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. This club has a maximum of 20 students. For more information, please contact club sponsor Mrs. Stacy Rich at srich@district30.org

Battle of the Books Club

Battle of the Books (BOB) Club is offered to help students prepare for the Glenview Public Library Battle of the Books Competition date, January-March 2024. 4th and 5th graders are encouraged to form teams of four, read books, and memorize details to test their knowledge/memory of the books. During the Battle of the Books club, we will talk about the books we are reading, strategize ways to remember details from the books, and host mini-competitions against each other. You can access the reading list here.  

Students in 5th grade are invited to participate on Mondays for 8 weeks (October 9 through November 27).  Students in 4th grade are invited to participate on Tuesdays for 8 weeks (October 10 through December 5th). We will meet in the library after school until 4:20. 

Registration opens on Monday, August 28, and closes on September 6.

If space allows, you will be notified of acceptance into the club on Monday, September 11th.
