STEAM Club

The Willowbrook STEAM Club incorporates SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART, AND MATH in a setting that allows students to explore, question, and experiment with projects and activities. Each week, we will read a story designed to inspire future innovators! Next, through discovery-based learning, students will carry out experiments, engage in team activities, participate in challenges, learn new technologies, and see how art & science work in the real world.

This year we will look at lesser-known individuals who have made significant contributions to society. Additionally, we will explore how to recreate STEAM kits to save money and increase access for more students. Due to the limited number of kits available this club will be limited to 10 students.

4th and 5th-grade students will participate on Mondays, starting April 1 and running through May 20th.

2nd and 3rd-grade students will participate Tuesday's starting April 2 and running through May 21.

Club runs from 3:20-4:20 p.m.

Technology Club

Do you love using technology? Are you someone who loves to collaborate with others and create awesome projects with iPads? Then you should join the Willowbrook Technology Club! Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of creative experiences on the iPad! Some of the fun we will have will be making slideshows, digital projects, and stories. As we work on the iPads, the students have the opportunity to learn how to upload projects into a digital journal, using voice, images, and video. Students will participate in coding, and enhance iPad, and app skills by using tools such as Green Screen, Stop Motion, Pic Collage, Apple Clips, iMovie, Canva, Pebble Go, interactive Google Slides, Augmented Reality with Quiver, and many more!

First-grade students are invited to 11 sessions, not including Spring Break, from March 6 to May 22. We will meet in the Library on Wednesdays. This club has a maximum of 15 students. For more information, please contact club sponsor Mrs. Stacy Rich at srich@district30.org

Club runs from 3:20-4:20 p.m.
