The 1986-1987 Boys Basketball team won their 3rd consecutive Centennial Conference Championship and won the district title.

The 1987-1988 basketball season was full of hope. On the left is preseason preview from the Northfield News.


Below is the gamer from the Randolph Rockets vs. De La Salle Islanders basketball game on December 15, 1987. The Rockets defeated the Islanders handing the Islanders their only defeat of the season. De La Salle finished the season as state champions with only one loss on their record.

More of 87-88. Rockets win their 4th consecutive Centennial Conference Championship and were led by Mark Whitson and Larry Bassett. Whitson was nomindated for Mr. Basketball in the state of Minnesota and Bassett would go on to become one of the best shooters in MIAC history. Bassett still holds St. John's University 3 Point Records!

The brains behind the Rocket dynasty in the 1980s. Head Coach, Denny Murray, and his assistant coach, Mike Silk, led the Rockets to a record of 80-10 and four conference championsips from 1984-1988.

In 1988-1989 the Rockets moved to the Tri-Valley. The highlight of the season was a 60-54 victory over the rival, Cannon Falls Bombers.
