College Credit for PLTW Courses


It is worth noting that college credit is offered through several institutions. Huntley High School uses Rochester Institute of Technology because they have been very accommodating with us and offers credit for the majority of the classes that we offer. If you know what school you are going to it is always best to see what that institution offers.


Currently RIT offers college credit for the following courses;

  • Introduction to Engineering (IED)

  • Principles of Engineering (POE)

  • Digital Electronics (DE)

  • Civil Engineering/Architecture (CEA)


The qualification for transcripted college credit for the 2020-21 school year is based on the student’s semester grades. The qualifying grades are an average of the HHS semester 1 and semester 2 grades following the following key:

If your child qualifies using the above criteria, Huntley High School must submit grade approval by July 1, 2021 to Rochester Institute of Technology. Students then have until July 20, 2021 to submit the registration form and submit the payment directly to Rochester Institute of Technology. Rochester Institute of Technology charges $225 to transcript the 3 credit hours for the each of the following classes:
