Class of 2025 and Beyond

Starting with the graduating class of 2025, students will have 2 options to complete the requirements for the Engineering Academy.     Please see below for the chart. 

Option 1:   Complete the full 4-year PLTW Engineering course sequence including EDD, 2 related courses, AND 2 job shadows.

Option 2:    Complete 3 years of the PLTW course sequence, 2 related courses,  AND a pre-approved internship or other work-based learning experience that totals at least 30 hours.

***Related Courses:  In addition to the PLTW coursework, ALL students will choose 2 related courses from the Engineering Academy portion of the course catalog. 

***Exit Presentation:  ALL students graduating from the academy will also be required to complete a final exit presentation in the spring of their senior year.  

***State of IL Engineering Pathway Endorsement:  Either option will also earn students the Engineering Technology Pathway Endorsement from the Illinois State Board of Education.
