SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TIPS
Teachers-please use school letterhead, what subject taught to the student/or position held, and a signature.
If a letter of recommendation is given out in the fall for college applications, please change the letter for scholarship application recommendation. It’s probably valuable to tell the student to come back later in the winter/spring for particular scholarship recommendations. It is rewarding to read the scholarship recommendations particularly addressed to the specific scholarship!
Students-please have computer generated responses. It has become very difficult to read those in pencil or pen. Please give your teachers time to give you good letters of recommendation. It is important to be able to see a match or connection between staff selected and future career choices whenever available. It was extremely easy to view activities in school and out when identified by years. Please know the difference between official and not official transcripts. For our scholarship, we need the 7th semester transcript which should then include all 7 semesters of courses and grades. It is your responsibility to make sure all materials are gathered and posted by the posted deadlines. Most important…apply for all scholarships that you are eligible for! Your odds are very good with the wonderful local scholarships being given out. Organizations want to help you financially in pursuit of further education/training.
