Hello, WOIS Families! 

We are so proud of our Wolfpack for giving their best effort on STAR testing this week! 🐺 Students came prepared, focused, and ready to show what they know. We appreciate the support and encouragement families provide at home to help our students feel confident and ready to learn!

We are also excited that Band, Choir, and Clubs & Activities will officially begin the week of September 14th! We love seeing so many of our students getting involved and taking advantage of opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun beyond the classroom. We will also be updating bus routes next week for any students doing after school activities and will share any updates with families once they are finalized.

We also had a fun High-Five Friday this morning to welcome our students into school! 🖐️ A special thank you to the Countryside Fire District for joining us and helping us start the day with smiles and positive energy. We will continue celebrating High-Five Friday on the first Friday of each month, giving our Wolfpack another opportunity to kick off the day feeling welcomed, connected, and ready to learn!

Please note, because we have next Friday off, there will be no newsletter sent out. Our next newsletter will be sent Friday, September 18th. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and has a chance to relax and recharge!

• SEL Focus of the Month: September's focus is RESPECT! We kicked off this month by talking about anti-bullying. Check out our family connection letter to learn more: English and Spanish.

• Drive Carefully – Students Are Back!: With students back in school, please remember to drive carefully through our neighborhoods. Many children are walking to school or waiting at bus stops in the mornings and afternoons. Your caution, patience, and attentiveness help keep every child safe as they travel to and from school. Thank you for doing your part to protect our students!

• Diamond Awards: We invite you to use this form to recognize a staff member who is going above and beyond to make a difference in our classrooms, school, or district. Help us spread the positivity by celebrating and highlighting the incredible work our staff members do each day!

• Health Physical and Immunization Requirements due 10.15: As a reminder, all students entering Preschool, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and any student new to Illinois schools are required by Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/27-8.1) to have a current physical examination (must be completed within one year prior to the first day of school) and up-to-date immunization records on file. Deadline: October 15, 2026

Important: Students who do not submit a completed physical and proof of required immunizations by this date will be excluded from school. They will not be allowed to attend classes or participate in school activities until the required forms are received.

Please schedule any needed appointments as soon as possible and submit forms to the school office. If your child has an upcoming appointment, please provide written confirmation from your healthcare provider to the school nurse prior to October 15.

If you have questions or need assistance accessing health services, please contact the school nurse or main office. Thank you for helping us keep all students healthy, safe, and ready to learn!

• Birthday Treats:  Due to dietary restrictions and various allergies within the classrooms, we ask that families refrain from providing edible birthday treats. Classrooms will recognize and celebrate students’ birthdays in other ways! We appreciate your understanding. 

• D76 CARES: At D76, the well-being of our students and families is our top priority. Understanding the critical role mental health plays in student success, we have launched D76 CARES - a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving access to quality mental health services across our community. D76 CARES stands for Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement, and Support. Treatment services are initially provided free of charge to district families for up to 8 sessions. • September Dine Out: Join us at Taco and Burrito Express on September 15th for lunch or dinner! They are located at 400 E. Hawley St., Mundelein, IL 60060. Be sure to mention Diamond Lake School District, and 15% of the proceeds will be generously donated to the D76 PTO.

• Spirit Wear Store: Check out the cute new styles in the 2026 Spirit Wear store.  The store is open now through September 20th.  Shop now at https://diamondlake26.itemorder.com/

• Back to School Bash: The Back to School Bash will be held on Friday, September 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Weather permitting, this event will be outdoors. Tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family of 4 or more and may be purchased in advance or at the door. Preregistration helps us plan the event and earns you a complimentary raffle ticket.  Preregistration is open now until September 16th.  Return your preregistration to the office or enter all the info with your zelle payment. • Volunteers Needed: This event is only possible with dedicated volunteers. Volunteers for the Back to School Bash receive free admission.  Please sign up for a shift on our Sign up Genius. Can’t serve a shift, but still want to support the event? Email us at dist76pto@gmail.com.

• Tables Needed: Do you have folding tables we could borrow? We are always looking for extra tables for the Back to School Bash. Please label your tables with your name and drop them off at the West Oak Campus (Door #8) between September 22nd and September 25th.
