Hello, WOIS Families!
What a SPOOKTACULAR day at WOIS! We had so much fun celebrating Halloween with our parade, classroom parties, costume contest, and assembly! One of the highlights was taking our Halloween parade through the middle school so we could show off our amazing costumes to our WOMS friends and family! It was such a fun way to celebrate together and spread a little Halloween spirit throughout our school community.
A special THANK YOU to our PTO and parent volunteers for making our classroom parties so much fun! We appreciate the time and effort that went into organizing the activities, crafts, and snacks, as well as the parents who volunteered their time to celebrate with our students. We couldn't do it without you!
We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween tomorrow! Enjoy the trick-or-treating, make some great memories, and have a wonderful weekend.
A quick reminder: Monday is a late start! We look forward to seeing everyone back at WOIS on Monday morning. Have a fa-boo-lous weekend! 👻

Erin's Law: In accordance with Erin’s Law, all Illinois public schools are required to provide age-appropriate lessons each year to help students recognize unsafe situations, understand personal body safety, and know how to seek help from trusted adults. We will be presenting the lesson(s) during the weeks of November 2, 2026 through November 13, 2026. These lessons are designed to empower students with knowledge and skills to protect themselves. They focus on:
Understanding the difference between safe and unsafe touches
Identifying trusted adults at home and school
Learning how to say “no” and get help when feeling unsafe
Recognizing personal boundaries and respect for others
The lessons are presented in a sensitive, age-appropriate manner by our trained staff and/or approved curriculum resources. Our goal is to ensure students feel safe, supported, and informed. If you have questions about the content of these lessons or wish to review the materials before they are presented please contact your school social worker by Wednesday, October 28, 2026:
