Dear Diamond Lake School Families,
Welcome back! It has been wonderful having our students back at school this week. They jumped right back into routines and worked hard, and we are excited to continue building on that learning with even more planned for next week.
As a reminder, regular attendance is important for student success, and we truly appreciate your partnership in helping students be at school each day when they are able.
Please keep your child home if they are experiencing:
Vomiting
A fever
An illness that requires a doctor’s visit (please provide a doctor’s note when available)
Students can come to school if they have:
A mild cough
Minor aches or “not feeling great”
Cold or snowy weather
If you ever have concerns about your child’s health, attendance, or need additional support to help your student attend school regularly, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or to me directly. We are here to partner with you and support your family.
Thank you for a strong start back—we look forward to another great week of learning at DLS!
Every day at DLS matters!
Keep shining and #SparkleOn,
Mrs. Sunny Morley

We were back to learning on our first day back. Our teachers and students were working hard in classrooms throughout the building.
The week of January 26-January 30, 2026, our school will be participating in the Great Kindness Challenge, a global initiative that encourages students and staff to create a culture of kindness through simple, meaningful actions. This year, the theme of the challenge is: Show Us Your Kind!
Throughout the week, students will be invited to show their kind by completing acts of kindness, both big and small, toward classmates, staff, and our school community. Teachers may incorporate brief discussions or activities focused on empathy, inclusion, and making positive choices, and kindness checklists will be shared to help guide participation. Our goal is to intentionally highlight and celebrate kindness, reinforce positive behavior, and strengthen our sense of community. Thank you for supporting this effort and continuing to show us your kind by modeling kindness for our students each day.
Great Kindness Challenge Participation: Students will be invited to participate in the Great Kindness Challenge by completing a grade-level checklist (PreK-3 English, PreK-3 Spanish, 4-8 English, 4-8 Spanish). Students in PreK-3rd grade are expected to complete all items on their checklist, while students in 4th-8th grade would need to complete 25 items. Completed checklists should be submitted by the end of the day Friday, January 30, 2026, PreK-5th grade students will turn theirs in to their classroom teacher, and 6th-8th grade students will submit theirs to the front office. Students who complete the challenge will receive a Kindness Certificate and a special prize.
