💙 Kindness Week at DLS
Kindness Week is an important celebration at Diamond Lake School because we truly believe we are the kindest school in all the land! Our students show kindness in so many ways each and every day—through their words, actions, and care for one another. We are incredibly proud of our students for carrying kindness with them wherever they go and for making DLS such a welcoming, supportive community.

📚 100th Day of School – Monday, February 2
We’re excited to celebrate the 100th day of school on Monday, February 2! Classrooms will mark the day with fun, age-appropriate activities to honor 100 days of learning and growth.

📚 The month of February

We are celebrating our passion for reading with a month-long event: "D76 Loves to Read!" We’re kicking things off by celebrating World Read Aloud Day, on Wednesday by having Community Reader's join us in each classroom. 

⏰ Late Start Reminder – Monday, February 2
Please remember that Monday, February 2 is a late start day. School doors will open at the usual late-start time of 8:55 am.

🥪 Lunch Menu Update
We are currently experiencing a temporary shortage of SunButter and jelly sandwiches. Whitson’s is working with their supplier to resolve this as soon as possible. In the meantime, students will continue to have other sandwich and vegetarian options available daily.

📅 Trimester & Report Cards
The current trimester will end on Friday, and report cards will be sent home on February 13. We look forward to celebrating student progress and growth with you.

We want to share a quick update regarding our lunch menu. At this time, there is a temporary shortage of SunButter and jelly sandwiches due to a supplier issue.

Whitson’s is actively working with their supplier to resolve the shortage as quickly as possible. During this time, we will continue to ensure that other sandwich options and vegetarian choices are available for students each day so all students have a lunch option that meets their needs.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We will share updates as soon as the SunButter and jelly sandwiches are available again.

D76 CARES: At D76, the well-being of our students and families is our top priority. Understanding the critical role mental health plays in student success, we have launched D76 CARES - a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving access to quality mental health services across our community. D76 CARES stands for Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement, and Support. Treatment services are initially provided free of charge to district families for up to 8 sessions. Next PTO Meeting- Tuesday February 17th, 2026 6:00-7:00pm Diamond Lake Elementary School Library. 

Family Loteria Night! Please join us for this fun family night of bingo style play on Friday, February 20th, from 6pm-8pm at the West Oak Campus Cafeteria, 26156 N. Acorn Lane, Mundelein, IL 60060.  This event is free to play.  Prizes will be awarded. Snacks will be available to purchase.
