The Back to School Bash kicks off the school year with a fun event for the whole community! Held at the West Oak Campus all students PreK-8 are invited to join along with their families. With over 300 people in attendance, many activities keep the crowd engaged. Activities have varied but have included a photo booth, magician, face painting, bouncy slide, DJ and of course our raffle is always a huge hit.  We partner with local community vendors to offer food for purchase.  This is a great opportunity for students to reunite with their friends after summer and meet new ones as the year starts off. Under the current board, we've raised over $3000 each year making this the biggest fundraiser of the year for the PTO.

2023/2024 Chairs: Amanda Seibert

Each year this committee selects a theme to express appreciation to our teachers.  During Teacher Appreciation Week in May, they make sure our teachers feel all the love.  Each day they organize food drop offs or provide lunch or breakfast as well as get thoughtful and cute gifts for the teachers to enjoy.  They ensure all D76 families are aware of this special week and have opportunities to participate. This is one of our largest PTO activities.

The Dine Out committee is responsible for finding and working with local vendors to set up a fundraiser each month.  They create flyers to send home with students and arrange for publicity.  They coordinate volunteers when requested by our local business partners.  There are many businesses that we've partnered with for multiple years so usually it's minimal effort to update previous years' work.

2023/2024 Chair: Sara Tillman

Providing spirit wear to the D76 families and teachers is largely a service for the community.  This committee is responsible for gifting kindergarten t-shirts, fall spirit wear sale, and sometimes a clothing gift to teachers for teacher appreciation week. The largest activity is the Fall spirit wear sale which consist of setting up the online store, publicizing the sale, and confirming that orders are made and distributed correctly to the D76 families.  Opportunities to expand this service could include a year round or holiday store.

2023/2024 Chairs: Amanda Seibert

The School Party committee works with the grade level teacher leaders to order a craft for Halloween, and winter Holidays.  The PTO provides a healthy snack or resources for Parents to make plans for their child's classroom, depending on the grade level.  Opportunities for parents to volunteer during the school day have been offered by classroom teachers to all parents.

2023/2024 Chair: 

This committee is responsible for organizing a Fall and Spring Ice cream day. They order ice cream and organize parent volunteers to distribute to students at all 3 schools during lunch.  The students pre-order their selection and enjoy a fun treat.  All the kids love this day and it's a great opportunity for parents to see their kids at school.

2023/2024 Chair: Amanda Grill

This committee usually host a couple of fun nights for the kids outside of the school that double as fundraisers. These have included a Parents Night out at Action Martial Arts and a Roller Skating night in the winter. Serving on this committee is a great opportunity for someone with a limited amount of time who knows how to do publicity as the facilities do the majority of the work.  

The parents night out event is for students K-5.  This drop off event historically has had kids participate in Nerf gun challenges or obstacle courses, arts and crafts, and have dinner; while parents are free to have a night out. 

The Roller Skating night is a family event. This is an especially fun event for middle school students.

2023/2024 Chair:  Kirsten Sittler

In the spring this committee works with the administration to finalize the school supply list, coordinates with the School Kidz program, and provides publicity for incoming Kindergartners and returning students.  In the fall this committee then helps to distribute the kits to the kids and families before the meet and greet at the beginning of the school year. This is a small fundraiser but the main objective is to provide a service to the families of D76
