Summer Camps

Summer Camps are a wonderful way for students to keep their chops fresh and stay involved in music-making during the summer while school is out. It is very highly recommended to attend a summer music camp! These camps are all extremely musically rewarding, and also allow students to meet musicians from other schools and make new friends.

Below is a list of some summer camps available to middle school students. This list is not exhaustive, but should help with beginning your search for summer music camps!

• Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp - Twin Lake, MI

• Encore Wind Symphony, Jr. - Crystal Lake, IL (Mr. Crylen directs this summer band!)

• Grayslake Jazz Combo Workshop - Grayslake, IL

• Illinois State University (ISU) Junior High Band Camp - Bloomington-Normal, IL (on the ISU campus)

• Illinois Summer Youth Music (ISYM) - Urbana-Champaign, IL (on the University of Illinois campus)

• Interlochen Summer Arts Camp - Interlochen, MI

• Merit School of Music Summer Camp - Chicago, IL

• Midwest Young Artists (MYA) Summer Programs - Highwood, IL

• Northern Illinois University (NIU) Jazz Camp - DeKalb, IL
