Advanced Band

The Advanced Band is Prairie Grove's premier curricular ensemble and is open to experienced band students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 via audition only. Students meet for full band twice per week during the school day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students also receive weekly 30-minute small-group lessons on Tuesdays. The Advanced Band performs annually at the Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) Division Contest and has made numerous appearances at the IGSMA State Contest. The Advanced Band will be performing at the 2024 Illinois Music Education Conference in Peoria, Illinois this coming January.
