We have several models happening at Kenner Discovery Schools. Some students are 100% online, middle school and high school students all have an assigned device, and K-4 students each have a device assigned to them in the classroom. We have occasional ASYNC days when 2nd - 4th grade students will take home their school computers. Where ever we are, we are dedicated to helping your child grow and succeed. Here are some basic explanations to help you get up to speed at Discovery Schools when it comes to technology and working online.
Students receive a gmail account specific to Discovery Schools. It will be 4 letters and 4 numbers plus @students.discoveryhsf.org. Students also have passwords. For the younger students using the computers in school, teachers have helped set student passwords. If your child forgets their password and are in Grades K-2, ask their teacher first or reach out to your Instructional Tech Coordinator -

When a child logs on to their computer/chromebook, two tabs will automatically at the top of the device. One is for Oncourse - the other is Discovery Schools, a website for their grade level program icons.
Students also have a folder with important Discovery sites in a drop down list.
We have Single Sign-On - which means students can use their Google @students.discoveryhsf.org account to log into websites whenever signed on to their school computer or use their Chrome Profile. Single sign-on means they do not have to remember a different password for the application. Oncourse uses the single sign-on. Be award the log on button for students in oncourse is lower down on the screen - on the left side - under Students.
On the Chromebook, click the down arrow key and you will see the black log in button.
