Google Meets

Google Meets has been updated with a feature that allows students to change the background to make it look like there is a beach, fireworks, a laboratory etc behind them. While we understand how fun this feature is, we are asking that students do not use it. The first reason is because the background slows down the connection for the student using it and the others in the meet. The second reason is because it is distracting for the student and others as well. 

Beginning tomorrow, please make sure your child has not enabled this feature. They will receive one additional warning from their teachers tomorrow and then we will view it as a discipline infraction for not following school procedures. 

Online recess may be a great time for students to have these backgrounds activated, as long as it is not slowing down the meet.
