Acquiring a disability, or navigating a progressive condition, often brings a profound and unexpected shift. It can affect how you see yourself, how others relate to you, and how you move through work, relationships, and daily life.
Many people arrive in this space feeling overwhelmed, disoriented, or uncertain. Familiar routines may no longer fit. Expectations, both internal and external, may suddenly feel heavier or harder to meet.
You may find yourself:
trying to understand changes in your body, energy, or capacity
navigating unfamiliar disability language, systems, and entitlements
experiencing anxiety about work, income, or future direction
noticing limiting beliefs taking hold during a time of transition
struggling to reconcile who you were with who you are becoming
Coaching in this space is not about fixing, motivating, or rushing you toward acceptance. It is about having a steady and respectful space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what is changing.
This coaching supports you to:
understand changing work and social environments
make sense of disability language, rights, and entitlements
gently identify limiting beliefs shaped by fear or uncertainty
reconnect with agency, direction, and self-trust
make thoughtful decisions at your own pace
I work as a coach, not as a therapist, counsellor, medical practitioner, or legal advisor. I do not provide medical or clinical guidance.
What I do bring is decades of experience working alongside persons with disabilities, families, workplaces, and systems, and the ability to support careful thinking during periods of transition rather than pushing for premature clarity.
This is paid coaching work. It asks for a willingness to invest time, energy, and attention in reflective engagement.
If you are seeking clinical intervention, medical treatment, or free services, I may not be the right person, and I say this with care and awareness of the economic pressures many people face during periods of disability-related change.
If you are looking for a calm, supportive space to think through change and regain a sense of direction, you are welcome to reach out.
