At Kennedy Elementary, we are dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of our students, fostering their growth not only academically but also in mind, body, and spirit. Central to our mission is the integration of social-emotional learning (SEL) into our comprehensive school counseling program. We have enthusiastically embraced the Second Step SEL programs listed below to empower our students with the essential skills and insights they need to excel as responsible community members and exemplary citizens.
In the year 2023, Kennedy Elementary achieved the esteemed distinction of Platinum Level Status, in acknowledgment of our remarkable accomplishments in implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This innovative and evidence-based framework operates on a three-tiered approach, seamlessly enhancing and unifying all aspects of data, systems, and practices that shape the daily experiences and educational outcomes of our students.
PBIS serves as a guiding light for our institution, dedicated to the holistic development and success of every student, with a particular focus on those with disabilities. It embodies our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment where each and every student can thrive.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline stands as a crucial resource for our students who may be facing challenges and distress. This lifeline, accessible at 1-800-273-8255, offers round-the-clock, compassionate, and confidential support to individuals who are in emotional turmoil, alongside valuable prevention and crisis resources. We encourage any student who may need assistance to reach out to this lifeline, knowing that help is available whenever it's needed.
