Written plan for targeting populations

Dilley ECHS is open to all incoming 9th grade students. In the Fall of the students' 8th grade year, they all do the TSI precertification, and take the Reading TSI. Those who do not pass, have the opportunity to continue working on this college readiness test during the spring semester.

During the spring semester, all 8th graders fill out an ApplyTexas application for Southwest Junior College in their AVID classes. Current ECHS students also come and talk to the AVID classes about the program. A parent meeting is also held for all interested parents. Applications for the ECHS are handed out at that time, and students and parents fill these out and return them to the counselor, AVID teacher, or ECHS dean to be processed.

In the summer, all those who have turned in applications, have the opportunity to attend a summer bridge to retest on the reading if needed and to take the writing and math tests.

Communication Plan:

Dilley ECHS is open to all interested and qualifying students. Dilley ECHS information is shared to all stakeholders. Informational meetings are posted online at both the district webpage and on DISD's social media pages. Upcoming meetings are shared in the Frio-Nueces Current for any interested community members. Communication between parents and staff is important to having a successful program.

ECHS information is shared twice a year at Dilley ISD School Board meetings. The leadership team has had opportunities to share more information about our school at both TASB and the CCR Summer Conference.
