Maika Carrillo is a self-confessed book lover (@thefilipinabibliophile). She was a contributor for TINIG UK, a non-profit community platform uplifting Filipino voices. She was also a contributor to “The Little Book of Positive Birth Stories” curated by Claire Fulton. 

Her short story “The Quiet Between Breaths” appeared in Scribbled Online, and her essay “The Other Asian: A Reflection Of Being A Filipino Immigrant In The UK” is featured in Golden, an East and Southeast Asian annual magazine.

 Winner of the 2026 Love Rugby Poetry Competition, she currently facilitates the Filipino Mothers UK Book Club.
