A modern market built on traditional values. Beccles Sunday Market has been created to bring energy, quality and opportunity back into the heart of a true market town. It is designed to support independent traders, attract visitors and create something that feels both established and forward-thinking.
The idea for Beccles Sunday Market comes from personal experience. My start in business was on markets, selling grocery across Essex, Kent and East London. It was a hands-on environment where I learned how to trade, communicate and understand people.
Markets teach you quickly. You learn what works, what doesn’t and how to adapt in real time. That early experience shaped how I approach business today.
After building and managing businesses internationally across digital, marketing and technology, the opportunity to bring that experience back into a physical market felt like the right move.
Beccles is a strong market town with real character. The aim is to build something here that reflects that, while also introducing new ideas and a higher standard of presentation and organisation.
A key part of this project is to support, not compete with, the existing Friday market. The Sunday market is designed to complement what is already in place by introducing different types of traders, new product categories and a more experience-led offer.
By doing this, we aim to:

Increase footfall across the town
Support local businesses and shops
Encourage visitors to return more regularly
The market is also designed to help position Beccles as a destination. By creating a consistent, high-quality Sunday offering, we can attract visitors from surrounding areas and beyond, increasing tourism and supporting the wider local economy.
