Dharma Into Action

Dharma Into Action (DhIA) Foundation connects over 11 million U.S. residents with ties to the 4 major religions that originated in India (Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism) to increase their engagement in social and civic service, education and the arts in the U.S. and beyond.

DhIA brings together Dharmic American leaders, tech entrepreneurs, business executives and philanthropists collaborating to create an action-oriented foundation that addressing needs in the community while embodying secular and inclusive core values.

DhIA is focused on three main programs and audiences:

  • Women of Dharma: with an initial focus on changing the culture for women in finance

  • Students & Young Adults: by reaching out to youth from Dharmic traditions on college campuses with a pilot program

  • Meditation and Mindfulness: through practices that address issues in our own community (e.g. teenage suicide) and the broader community (e.g. frontline workers).

Our approach is to partner, pilot, demonstrate, and propagate best practices, to then scale open-source action that connects researched needs with evidence-based practices.
