Using concept maps to frame value creation in a pre-writing assignment - Case Study from Bucknell University
I have used concept maps in core chemical engineering courses and in a technical communication elective. In the communication course, students develop a technology proposal to create value for a customer or society. Students use concept maps and a business model canvas to frame their proposal in a pre-writing activity.
The video explains the assignment, how the concept maps are scored and assessed, and why concept maps are a useful learning tool in this course.
Course context: Upper level elective on technical communication. This assignment is a building block for larger proposal assignment developing argument for value creation. The grading is labor based.Â
