UNITAR Fellowship Programme in Peacemaking and Preventive Diplomacy

The 2026 UNITAR Fellowship Programme in Peacemaking and Preventive Diplomacy, conducted by the United Nations Insitute for Training and Research (UNITAR), aims to provide advanced training inconflict analysis, negotiation, and mediation for internaitonal and national civil servants, witha focus on strengthening skills and supporting the prevention and resolution of international disputes within the United Nations framework

Interested applicants must take note of the requirements for this course. The Participant must:

Be a mid- to senior-level diplomatic staff with a demonstrated commitment to field and the ability to apply the knowledge gained to policymaking and/or implementation for the benefit of the country, region or international community
Be fluent in English

Nominations of female applicants are highly encouraged

The ERIA School of Government Fellowship, conducted by the Economic Institute for ASEAN and East Asia School of Government (ERIA SoG), aims to establish and strengthen a community of experts dedicated to advancing regional public interests, which are crucial for community-building. The Fellowship also aims to widen the horizon for the world to learn from Southeast Asia, identifying and nurturing regional interests and elevating the region’s policy ideas and governance experience in international policy conversations positioning Southeast Asia as a meaningful reference point for governance and public policy practice.

Interested applicants requested to choose a study program that is anchored to the Department's Priority Areas for Scholarship and must take note of the requirements for this course. The Participant must:

Have serve more than 10 years as a government official (as a professional) or have a doctoral degree or higher (for academic individual)
Demonstrated policy-relevant experience and/or knowledge in government, academia, think tanks, international organizations or similar institutions
Be Proficient in written and spoken English

Allowance (USD 5,000) per full month of residency for supporting research activities and living expenses, including research-relared travel

MTCP Economic Diplomacy Course for International Participants

The Economic Diplomacy Course for International Participants, conducted by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) under the auspices of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), aims to enhance the participants’ knowledge on economic planning and policies, negotiations, investment and trade as well as to expose them to the changing geo-political, economic and strategic global environment. The course also covered an overview of Malaysia’s efforts in transforming and improving its economic growth, governance and social development. The Program also aims better appreciate the importance of economic diplomacy as part of the diplomatic skills needed in the 21st century.

Interested applicants must take note of the requirements for this course. The Participant must:

Be a junior to mid-career diplomat or government officers whose work involves diplomacy and management
Be 39 years of age and below
Have at least 1 year of work experience in international affairs/relations or international trade
Hold a Bachelor's degree
Be proficient in English
