Hey DMS!
Mrs. Foster has brought some new books to read that were just added to the Library. First, we have Talons of Power by Tui T. Sutherland, a fantasy book about five dragons trying to claim their destiny. Secondly, the book Demon Slayer V3 by Koyoharu Gotouge is a manga series about a brother trying to save his sister and others while fighting demons. The third book, Allies by Allen gratz is an epic tale of teamwork in the face of tyranny. Finally, the last book is Space Case by Stuart Gibbs, and it's about a murder mystery on the moon while three astronauts try to figure it out.
Coming out next is We Run This House by Anna Sofia Dickens, A Glimmer of Change by Elle McNicoll, All the Things We Found by Joanne Levy, Ms. Penny Pickles Puzzle Quest by Chris Grabenstein, and the last one is There Blue Hearts by Lynne Kelly.

The last two months have been full of "digging in" to our school-wide book Holes and fun volleyball tournaments. We are also using this time to promote "digging in" to your learning!
In Holes, Stanley Yelnats found that every hole he dug made him stronger, even when the ground was hard. Your brain works the same way!
Studies on 'Growth Mindset' show that students who embrace challenges—instead of avoiding them—actually grow more neural connections in their brains. In fact, middle schoolers who view intelligence as something they can 'dig for' and build (rather than something they’re just born with) score an average of 20% higher on standardized tests over time.
The environment is very important to all living things, and it is declining rapidly due to human activities. By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Here are some tips we can follow to help our environment.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Don't litter
Turn scraps into compost
Use a reusable water bottle
Unplug stuff when not in use
Try to save water
