This year our baseball team has been working hard on and off the field. They have practiced hard and played hard during the games too. This year they have had a winning record so far being 3 and 1. They’re first game of the season was against Cape Central and it was a hard fought loss in a 10-3 game. In their game against Kennett, it was a back and forth game ending on a walk off by Trey Pedigo in a 8-7 game. The boys blew New Madrid away in a 12-0 win. Their last game they had was a 7-3 win against Doniphan.
Trey Pedigo and Gibson Booker were interviewed on their favorite part of the season and who they are most excited to play against. Trey Pedigo, a seventh grader, stated, ”I like to watch Gibson hit tanks off of Coach Bolin,” and also added,” I am most excited to play Charleston because I have some friends from there and I think it would be fun to beat them.” Gibson Booker, an eighth grader, said, ”My favorite part has been hitting nukes off of Coach Bolin,” adding,” I like to play Bernie the most because I have some friends on that team and my summer coach is the coach of that team and just wanted to show them what I can do.” Gibson also wanted to shout out Coach Bolin for giving him good pitches to hit nukes off of.
The eighth graders on the team are Zaid Fornkohl, Houston Neely, Carter Stone, Logan Fritch, Wyatt Hockersmith, and Gibson Booker. The seventh graders are Justus Lovelady, Carson Hurt, Trey Pedigo, Hunter Massey, Brayden Vaughn, Walker Jarrell, Judd Robinson, Connor Hankins, Jaxon Miller, and Will Guethle. They are coached by Coach Bolin, along with Coach Lovelady and Coach Guethle. The boys have had a great season so far and are looking forward to having an even better season as it progresses. Make sure to come out and cheer on the boys in their next home games against Bloomfield on April nineteenth followed by East Prairie on the twenty-first.
