At DeWitt Middle School, we use the acronym R.O.A.R. to communicate our positive behavior expectations. From classrooms to the cafeteria, all areas of our school focus on the four pillars of respecting each other, owning our behavior, acting responsibly, and reaching for excellence. The Technology at the Ready program will employ the same behavior themes, detailed below.
Respect Each Other
Own It
Act Responsibly
Reach for Excellence

Use the Chromebook that is issued to YOU. Each student is issued a device that they are responsible for keeping safe. Respect your classmates by only using your own device.
Use your Chromebook as directed by your teacher. Following directions shows that you respect your teachers.
If you find a Chromebook that doesn't belong to you, give it to a teacher or take it to the office.

Charge your Chromebook at home each night. (Pro tip: Designate a charging station at home and leave your charger there. That way you won't lose it at school!)
Carry your case properly. Put the strap securely over your shoulder or use the handle.
Zip up the case completely and use the handle or strap when transporting your Chromebook from one location to another.
When storing your Chromebook in your locker at lunch time or during PE or other classes that won't be using it, be careful not to slam the door on the Chromebook or case. (In general, you will want to carry your Chromebook to every class and bring it home every night.)
Keep food and liquids away from your Chromebook.
Report any problems (especially damage) to your parents/guardians right away.
Be cautious with your Chromebook. You are responsible for it!

Every student who uses technology at DeWitt Middle School must sign the Acceptable Use Policy. (You do this at the beginning of every school year.) You are responsible for adhering to the AUP.
Use your school Chromebook for school-related activities.
Use your school account instead of a personal account.
Keep track of your Chromebook - know where it is at all times!
