In order to graduate from High School in Louisiana you must complete the FAFSA and send confirmation to your school counselor. In 2018, Louisiana became the first state to pass a law requiring students to complete the FAFSA as a prerequisite for graduating from high school. As a result, many students secured more financial aid across the state, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Education. Any senior planning to receive any type of financial assistance (scholarships, grants, loans, work study, etc.) must complete the FAFSA.
