Thank you for a great year!
Every year is filled with various types of challenges! 2023-2024 was no exception!! With every challenge that we faced, our parents stepped in and made adifference. You volunteered, spoke, went on field trips, ate lunch, helped with arrival and dismissal, worked field day, tutored, decorated, led, designed solutions, advocated of change, and challenged us to think and do better!!! Amid challenges, you have gone above and beyond! I appreciate each of you so much! YOUR support for our children makes KJTMA special!!!! We know that next year will be full of challenges as well. However, TOGETHER, we can accomplish anything we set out to do to help our children achieve at a higher level! Thank you for leaning into the R.I.S.E. Principles and for helping KJTMA become a better place to learn and grow!--Dr. Neely

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you, Dr. Neely, Mrs. Hanspard, the administrative staff, teachers, the PTA President Mrs. Spellman, the PTA, parents, cafeteria staff, and custodian for your incredible support and contributions to our recent Field Day event. Your generosity and dedication made all the difference in ensuring its success.
Your willingness to donate items, volunteer your time, and offer assistance wherever needed truly exemplifies the spirit of community and teamwork. Field Day wouldn't have been possible without your collective efforts and enthusiasm.
The atmosphere of joy and excitement on Field Day was palpable, thanks to the contributions and support of each and every one of you. From setting up the concession to providing refreshments, from ensuring the grounds were clean and safe to cheering on the participants, your involvement played a vital role in creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.
On behalf of the entire school community, I extend a heartfelt thank you to each member of the PTA, the dedicated parents, the hardworking cafeteria staff, the diligent custodian, and the supportive administrative staff. Your commitment to our school and our students is truly commendable.
Once again, thank you all so much for your unwavering support and generosity. It is deeply appreciated and does not go unnoticed. We look forward to future collaborations and continued success together.

Our Lost and Found is overflowing with coats, sweaters, clothes, and lunch boxes. Please take a moment and stop by the school to check for items if your scholar has misplaced any items. We also have a collection of glasses at the front desk.
We have gone through looking for names so that we can return them, but unfortunately, there were only a few items that had names on them. All items left on May 31, 2024 will be donated or discarded.

Project Pipeline Summer Architecture and Design Camp
presented by the National Organization of Minority Architects.
Project Pipeline is an annual summer camp hosted by various chapters across the nation. This year's Dallas camp will be held in July at The University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs and offers an opportunity for students to engage in the design process alongside other inspired students and professionals. It is open to all middle school and high school students. Dates and details are on the flyer attached to this email, and more information can be found on our website.

PK-12 Enrollment Now Open for 2024-2025 School Year

The DeSoto Independent School District is working ahead to prepare for an exciting and successful 2024-2025 school year.
The district continues actively recruiting high-quality, talented instructional staff to drive innovative and impactful learning experiences for every Eagle Scholar in our system.
As DeSoto ISD prepares for the 2024-2025 school year, the district wants to ensure that every student is enrolled and counted.
Doing so will allow DeSoto ISD to right-size staffing and adequately allocate vital resources to most deeply support student learning.
It's critically important that every family in our system commit to completing enrollment and registration as soon as possible for students at every grade level. You must complete all the required documents in the portal. If you do not receive a confirmation page when you submit, you may have missed a form.
In addition, every student is required to obtain up-to-date immunizations for the upcoming school year. Please visit Dallas County Health and Human Services for assistance in this effort.

2024 Teen Summer Volunteer Flyer.pdfWE'RE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR OUR TEEN SUMMER VOLUNTEER PROGRAM 2024 from May 9 – MAY 31! Teens ages 13 – 18 are encouraged to apply for the DeSoto Public Library's seven week Teen Summer Volunteer Program (TSVP). The program will give teens confidence building volunteer experience, practical job skills, customer and public service experience, and an introduction to possible careers in libraries. Volunteer duties include shelving materials, assisting with the Summer Reading Club Program, becoming a Book Buddy (reading with children ages 3 – 11), being a Teen Techie who assists customers in the library’s Computer Lab, or assisting with Teen Summer Programs. Teens who participate in the TSVP will earn community service hours. Selected volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation on Saturday, June 8 at 12 noon, no exceptions and pass a background check.
