In the club, our primary focus is the planting done in and around the greenhouse and our sustainable practices. We plant fruits and vegetables to the benefit of our community. In the past, we have planted beef-steak tomatoes, bok choy, and artichoke. We choose to increase the biodiversity in Kenya by sourcing for plants that are not very common in the community. And the end product of our planting is the healthy and fresh produce harvested that we then can sell to the greater community for an affordable price. And because of our rich biodiversity and foreign produce not commonly found in Kenya, we are providing the community with a greater variety and an enticing purchase. Not only as a source of profit and funding for our work but also a rewarding end result and an accomplishment to work toward. So be on alert for when we sell our produce!
As mentioned, we have planted bok choy and artichoke in the past, and now looking to the future, we have many new and exciting plants in the works, such as unique types of squash, spinach, mouse melons, and many diverse species of tomatoes.
