Probably one of our most exciting additions to the Greenhouse is our recently acquired honey bees. These bees are of course stingless, and they help to pollinate the various plants and flowers around the Greenhouse. In addition, we are able to collect honey from these bees and perhaps utilize the honey in some form or way in the future, such as in our Greenhouse kitchen, or even selling it to the ISK community. So far, we've been able to use the honey in our Greenhouse pancakes, cooked with our own methane gas.
To harvest, the lid to the beehive was opened revealing the honey-comb structure inside. We then drained all the liquid honey into a pot with a safety net to ensure that no bees flew into the honey and we then transferred into jar that was then ready to eat.
