Here you can see what we have been up to,
follow along to see all the good things happening!
While our gallery highlights special events and projects, much of our regular work happens quietly and respectfully in the community.
Every week, our team visits shelters, community centers, and other outreach locations to provide first aid, Education, prevention and many other services.
Due to privacy concerns and our commitment to protecting the dignity of the people we serve, we limit photography during these visits.
Even without a camera present, our work continues — building trust, delivering care, and making a difference one person at a time.
We appreciate you're understanding and support as we prioritize compassion and confidentiality in all that we do.
In the spirit of Preparedness Month, we had the opportunity to train several local hiking guides in CPR and AED use. Their dedication to safety and their commitment to always being ready to help others truly reflects what we are all about. Together, we’re building a community that’s prepared, empowered, and ready to save lives on and off the trail.
Alongside the El Paso VA, the City of El Paso, and so many of our amazing partners, Desert Aid Services proudly participated in the 1st Annual Veteran Affairs Community Surge Event. This three-day event focused on getting our homeless veterans off the streets and into housing — but we didn’t stop there. Our team opened our arms to anyone in need.
Over the course of the event, we collaboratively helped more than 300 people, with nearly a quarter moving into shelters and seeking support. Our volunteers did an incredible job providing health education, first aid, and outreach assistance, making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
On Friday, May 10th, our team proudly supported our partners at the National African American Gun Association (NAAGA) during their firearm education and safety course right here in El Paso, TX, at the Rod and Gun Club. We were on standby for any medical needs. Thankfully, it was a long and boring day – which, for us, is a perfect day! It means NAAGA ran a safe and professional training, and everyone stayed uninjured. We applaud their dedication to responsible firearm education.
On March 29,2025, we hung out with the Mount Cristo Del Rey Restoration Committee to provide first aid support during the annual Good Friday Easter hike up the mountain. We were proud to assist several individuals who experienced falls, scrapes, or simply weren't feeling well after the hike. Our goal is to keep everyone safe and offer peace of mind during events like these, so that participants can focus on the true meaning of why they are there.
On April 8th, our team joined forces with Project Vida and Recovery Alliance for a day of meaningful outreach, visiting known encampments throughout the community. Together, we shared vital resources, information, and support—each organization bringing unique strengths to the effort.
This collaboration is part of our ongoing commitment to harm reduction, ensuring that individuals in vulnerable situations have access to the tools, education, and care they need to stay safe and empowered.
By working together, we’re not just meeting people where they are—we’re building stronger bridges of trust, compassion, and hope in El Paso.
We had an incredible time supporting our partners at We Hike Adventure during their 1st Annual Youth Intersession! While the weather didn’t fully cooperate, we made adjustments and still had a fantastic and impactful day with the youth.
The event focused on promoting resilience, connection with nature, and healthy outdoor habits for young participants. Despite the clouds and chill, spirits remained high as we came together for a day of community, fun, and growth.
Community outreach is where Desert Aid Services (DAS) began, and it’s still the heart of everything we do. We’re out in the field, meeting people where they are and making sure they get the medical care they need. As the only NGO in El Paso providing basic medical assistance, we’re here to make a difference—one person at a time.
You can never know too much! At Desert Aid Services, we believe in the power of training and education. Here we are at Del Sol Hospital, sharpening our skills with Stop the Bleed training—because being prepared can save lives!
It may have been a windy day but that wont stop us from having a fun time! It was a great day to get out and meet new people and form new relationships and share our goal with the community!
With the winter storm approaching out team took to the streets and helped pass out clothing, emergency Mylar blankets and provide acute medical assistance. We are working closely with the community and going to warming shelters to offer our assistance.
Our new partners, the Opportunity Center for the Homeless of El Paso invited us to a dinner and memorial service to honor all the unhoused individuals who have passed away this past year. We helped to hand out hygiene supplies and made a lot of good connections.
This Thanksgiving, we reflected on how grateful we are to serve our community. To celebrate, we prepared a feast and shared it with our regular clients, bringing warmth and smiles to their day. Giving back is at the heart of everything we do.
As a part of our community outreach Program we teamed up with two more local organizations, Bookie & mommies helping hand and You Eat I Eat. Together they help to bring warm meals to those in need and we have teamed up with them to help provide First Aid Support.
