OBJECTIVE
Tokitok Elementary School as part of the Department of Education aims to promote and practice maximum tolerance in the workplace in order to be successful in implementing the provisions of the child protection policy on any act of Child Abuse, Exploitation, Violence, Discrimination, Bullying and other forms of Abuse.
RULES AND REGULATION
The school’s child protection policies were designed to be observed and implemented at all times as follows:
1. Be compassionate and friendly to pupils, give them genuine love and affection, advice and counsel, companionship and understanding.
2. Be considerate of pupils’ individual differences (status in life, physical, psychological, economical, and other profile).
3. Never utter unpleasant words to pupils, there shall be equal rights to every child and without any discrimination.
4. Correct pupils’ misbehavior individually and privately, proper case management shall be followed.
5. The welfare of every child is the utmost concern of everyone, close monitoring of children’s behavior and activities inside and outside the classroom shall be done.
6. The Child Protection Council be organized and capacity building be conducted to members, teachers, pupils, and parents to create awareness on the children’s rights, positive discipline and the prevention of bullying.
7. Corporal punishment shall not be done for the purpose of discipline control. Advocate a positive and non-violent mode of disciplining children to foster self-discipline and to improve self-esteem.
8. Pupils shall refrain from any act of bullying and peer violence. Staff shall take steps to prevent bullying.
9. Attend to cases of bullying, child abuse, violence, exploitation and interventions shall be done to victims.
10. Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hours. 11. Establish and maintain good communication to pupils, parents, and all stakeholders.
12. Strangers and peddlers should not be allowed to enter the school premises during school hours.
13. Maintain a Child-Friendly School where bullying is ostracize .
