History

Tokitok Elementary School with an School ID 102865 is situated in the western part of the municipality of Sanchez Mira, Province of Cagayan. It is belong to the Second Congressional District of the said province. The school is more or less 8 kilometers away from the town proper. It has an area of 921 square meters. The school was purchased by the school as reflected on its Tax declaration year 1985. The school community is generally peaceful because of the deep rooted Christian Doctrine of the three religious sect namely, Lutheran Church of the Philippines, Baptist Church, Anglican Church and Christ the King Church.

Tokitok people are hardworking, majority of the people are farmers and fishermen since they are surrounded with vast rice fields and the barangay is very near the sea. Children also help their parents in the farm and sea while others are left at home to take care of their younger siblings to the extent of getting absent in school. The teachers often conduct home visitation just to bring absentee pupils to school.

The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) program of the government initiated in 2010, uplift the economic condition of the people. The poor families who are recipients receive financial assistance for education and health of their children ages 3 to 15 years of age. There are about 65 families who are beneficiaries of the said program.
