Siargao Athletic Meet 2024 crowned its best muse during the opening program held on Thursday morning. In the midst of the fiery showdown between the delegation muses, Socorro East District’s Jozella Mae Savandal Miller stood out and was crowned 'Miss SDAM 2024'.
Miller is a 14-year-old, Fil-Am beauty from Socorro National High School who charmed the audience and judges alike with her commanding presence and doll-like pulchritude. Sporting a red racing suit with the iconic checkered flag, Miller was on full throttle as she sashayed on the runway.
"Honestly, I'm a bit surprised, but I feel incredibly grateful and honored to be recognized as the best muse. I also see it as a reminder to keep pushing myself and strive for improvement," Miller shared in an interview.
Athletic meets are heavily focused on sports, but mini-events such as the search for the best muse prove that SDAM is not just about brute strength and endurance; it also provides students with opportunities to highlight their character and individualism.
"I think the essence of choosing the best muse is about selecting a symbol of excellence who has the ability to inspire and motivate athletes. It's about embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and unity," Miller expressed, reflecting on the purpose of Miss SDAM 2024.
Encouraging her fellow athletes, Miller added, "To all the incredible athletes out there, embrace the journey, stay committed to your goals, and never underestimate your own strength. Let your passion fuel your journey to success. Best of luck, and may your efforts be as rewarding as they are relentless!"
